The trains and carriages are in 7 different colours (which also correspond with Boomwhacker colours in C major). However, the colours can be assigned to any pitches relevant to the group taking part in the activity. This is to allow groups to decide on different colours to help them choose pitches for an ostinato, either to build up chords, or even to create notes for a short melody.
The ‘stickers’ this time show destinations along the train journey and also hills (that could indicate a change in speed), bridges and tunnels (changes in sound/echo). These are just a starting point and classes are encouraged to come up with their own if they prefer.
N.B. In a group with instruments all at the same pitch, the transposed notes for the represented colours don’t have to be used e.g. clarinets could use red as C rather than a transposed D etc.
